3 in the Key

Working in Mental Health at The Scarborough (& Rouge) Hospital or any facility where there are numerous branches within a department can be overwhelming.  Many know that you can get stuck within your own branch not knowing what really happens throughout.

At The Scarborough (& Rouge) Hospital our mental health department is made up of 4 main trunks.  In-Patient Mental Health, Adult Out-Patient Mental Health, Community Mental Health Programs and Crisis.  Each trunk/branch playing a key role in this ecosystem of Mental Health.  As someone who has worked within a couple of these areas as well as connected with various staff members in lesser known ones, I have found that majority of the staff have no clue what other branches actually do.  Let alone know who they are and how inter-connected we actually are.

Every month Mental Notes will shine light on 3 staff members within mental health.  3 staff members who many may or may not know.  All in hopes of acquainting each other and breaking down these ‘silos’ that many have come accustomed to.  So the next time you see some of these new/old faces, your response would be a ‘hello’ instead of ‘who are you?’

And to keep things interesting instead of the run of the mill LinkedIn style profile.  Mental Notes has come up with a set of entertaining questions.  Have a look and prepare yourself, you might be called upon in the coming months to answer these questions.
